Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?
No. In Ohio, you can start physical therapy without a referral thanks to direct access. If your insurance plan requires a referral for reimbursement, we can help guide you through that process.

How do I know if physical therapy is right for me?

If you’re dealing with pain, stiffness, pelvic symptoms, or feeling like your body just isn’t working the way it should, physical therapy can help. If you’re unsure where to start, we offer a free discovery call to discuss your symptoms and help you decide whether we’re the right fit.
What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit is a longer, one-on-one session focused on listening, assessment, and creating a clear plan. We’ll talk through your history, assess how your body moves and functions, and discuss what’s contributing to your symptoms, not just where it hurts.

How long are appointments?
Appointments are typically 60 minutes, allowing time for a thorough assessment, hands-on treatment, and education without feeling rushed.

How many visits will I need?
That depends on your goals, symptoms, and how your body responds. Some people feel meaningful relief in just a few visits; others benefit from longer-term care. We’ll always be transparent and adjust your plan as you progress.

Do pelvic health appointments always include an internal exam?

No. An internal exam is never required and is only discussed if it’s appropriate and you’re comfortable. Many pelvic health concerns can be addressed externally.
Can pelvic physical therapy help after pregnancy or childbirth?

Yes. Pelvic physical therapy can support recovery after vaginal or C-section birth, help with bladder or bowel changes, core weakness, pelvic pain, and guide a safe return to activity.
Do you only treat women?
Most of our clients are women, and much of our messaging speaks directly to women’s health concerns. However, we do treat men as well.

Our whole-body approach to care applies to both women and men, including pelvic health, orthopedic care, chronic pain treatment, dry needling, and visceral manipulation. Men have successfully worked with us for concerns such as back pain, hip pain, pelvic pain, post-surgical recovery, and movement dysfunction.

If you’re unsure whether this care is the right fit, we’re always happy to connect and talk through your specific concerns.

Do you take insurance?
We are a cash-based physical therapy practice. This allows us to provide longer, one-on-one visits and focus on the root cause of symptoms rather than insurance limitations.

Can I still use my insurance?
Many clients choose to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. We can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance company. Reimbursement varies by plan.

Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
Yes. Physical therapy services are typically eligible for HSA and FSA payment.

What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee.

What if I’m not sure this is the right fit?
That’s okay! We offer a free consult so you can ask questions, share concerns, and decide what feels right — no pressure.
